How the paleo diet works

You don’t have to live in cave anymore to eat like a caveman. The paleo diet or caveman diet is a great choice if your looking to lose weight. The principal is simple, you eat like our ancient ancestors ate for the last 2,500,000 years. With the paleo diet you do not eat any grains, beans, processed foods or sugary foods. Instead you focus on eating foods that can be hunted and gathered like our ancestors used to do. In essence you focus on eating lean meats, seafood, fruits and vegetables, and nuts and seeds.
On the paleo diet it is also very important to stay physically active like our ancestors use to. So you should be getting at least 30 to 45 minutes of exercise per day.
Does the paleo diet work to help you lose weight?
According to a study done by the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition yes it does. This study followed 14 medical students for 3 weeks as they adhered to the paleo diet.
The results were impressive, the average student lost 5 pounds in pure body fat, dropped their blood pressure, lowered their cholesterol, and many of the students also showed improvement in blood sugar levels.
If you want to try the paleo diet make sure you stay away from processed foods, that’s the main point to this diet. So basically anything like cereal, pasta, bread, cake, and cookies is out of the question. The paleo diet emphasizes a natural approach that avoids these types of foods altogether. These foods are known to cause modern health issues like heart disease and diabetes so you will be doing yourself a favor to eliminate them anyway. Plus you will see a dramatic improvement in weight loss if you stop eating processed foods. The paleo diet has been proven to help people lose weight.
If you go on the paleo diet pay attention to how your body feels after about a week or two, you should notice that you have more energy and focus and you wont be as tired anymore. This is another benefit of following a natural ancestoral diet that eliminates processed junk foods. These junk foods that your consuming are causing most of your weight gain and health problems. Empty the pantry and get rid of them. Processed foods like cake, cookies, bread, cereal, and pasta were not found in the typical diet of our ancient ancestors, so our bodies are just not genetically evolved to process all these chemicals, sugars, and trans fats.
